The Pride looked primed to become the NCAA Division III National Champions, but was stopped in its tracks during the quarterfinal match against North Central when it posted its worst score of the season in a 3-27 loss.

There’s no doubt that Western Connecticut State University’s recent success on the gridiron should have the Wolves optimistic about the 2025 college football season, but there also are some pretty big unknowns.

Led by head coach Andy Fries, who is going into his second year in charge of the Polar Bears, Ohio Northern is set up for success. In one of the premier conferences in Division III, Freis is looking to establish himself and his program as one of the best not only in the Ohio Athletic Conference, but the country.

In 2025, the Capital University Comets are looking to bounce back from a 1-9 2024 outing, and are returning several key players to do so. Led by head coach Brian Foos who is entering his sixth year as head coach, the Comets are still searching for success. Foos has not had a winning season during his time at Capital, despite seemingly doing everything right.

The Ohio Northern Polar Bears are looking to improve on the 5-5 2024 season in 2025 and have several returning veterans leading the charge. Most notably, quarterback Sam Feldman is returning for his senior season, and last season led the team with 948 passing yards and 10 touchdowns.

In 2025, the Capital University Comets are looking to have their first winning season since 2009 and bounce back from a 1-9 2024 outing, and head coach Brian Foos may have the group of veterans that are right for the task.

Armed with a new head coach in Tom Kaufman and several defensive veterans, the Marietta Football Pioneers are looking to compete for the Ohio Athletic Conference title in 2025.
