The Ohio Northern Polar Bears are looking to improve on the 5-5 2024 season in 2025 and have several returning veterans leading the charge. Most notably, quarterback Sam Feldman is returning for his senior season, and last season led the team with 948 passing yards and 10 touchdowns.

A run-first offense, top running backs Jordan Pettaway and Louie Blasiole are returning, and Pettaway is the one 1,000 yard offensive player the Polar Bears have. The two combined for 1,884 yards and 20 touchdowns, of which Blasiole had 11.

Despite favoring the run game, Feldman’s top five targets are all returning at receiver, including junior running back Seth Borondy who led the team in receiving touchdowns with four. A young offense, the Polar Bears have lots of potential as a strong core of the team is returning, bringing a huge upside to a team looking to compete for an Ohio Athletic Conference title.

On defense, Ohio Northern lost its top tackler, but is returning several others including Cooper Braden, who had 55 tackles, one interception and four pass breakups at defensive back. Linebacker Myles Aldrich had 54 tackles, three sacks for 19 yards and a team-high 12.5 tackles for loss for 44 yards. He also had one fumble recovery and one interception.

Led by head coach Andy Fries, who is going into his second year in charge of the Polar Bears, Ohio Northern is set up for success. In one of the premier conferences in Division III, Freis is looking to establish himself and his program as one of the best not only in the Ohio Athletic Conference, but the country.

They finished the season at .500 exactly, but were 4-5 in conference play, leaving much to be desired. Now, established in his systems, his players will look to turn the Polar Bears into consistent competitors that challenge some of the best teams in the country.

Here's everything to know about the Ohio Northern Polar Bears.
