The Mount Union Purple Raiders kicked off their 2025 campaign against the Wheaton College (IL) Thunder on Saturday, Sept. 6 at home in Alliance, Ohio and did not disappoint fans with a game that stayed hot the entire afternoon.

With college football back and better than ever, the D3 schools will get their first taste of action during Week 1 with games starting on Sept 4. and wrapping up Sept 6.

While Averett football is taking an unorthodox approach to their quarterback situation, could it be what they need in 2025 to win some games in the ODAC? After going 3-7 overall and 1-6 in ODAC play in 2024, Averett is looking to have a stronger season in 2025.

In 2025, Averett football will be continuing with its two quarterback system that features both Ethan Ross and Louie De Iulio. In four games, Ross threw for 585 yards and four touchdowns on 38 completions as a freshman. In seven games, De Iulio threw for 305 yards and one touchdown.

Quarterback Carter Sido is set to have a big senior season for Hampden-Sydney in 2025 after throwing for 1,842 yards and 22 touchdowns as well as running for 202 yards and two more touchdowns. A young offense all around, running back Terry Hicks is also going into his junior season, and as a sophomore ran for 855 yards and nine touchdowns.

Shenandoah football head coach Scott Yoder knows how to bring success to the Hornets. Going into his 12th season as head coach in 2025, he holds a 64-52 record and is the program’s all-time win leader.

Looking to follow up on their ODAC winning, 10-2 season in 2025, Randolph Macon football has an expectation of excellence. The Yellow Jackets are hungry for more after losing in the third round of the 2024 NCAA DIII Playoffs, and enter the 2025 season ranked at No. 21 in the D3football.com preseason poll.

In 2025, Randolph Macon football will be playing for its fourth-straight 10 win season, something few programs have been able to achieve. The Yellow Jackets expect excellence, and with head coach Pedro Arruza leading the team for the 22nd year, he wants his team to win more than the ODAC and go all the way to the national championship.

The Villanova Wildcats celebrated a 10-4 overall record in 2024 and their second consecutive season with 10 wins. They went on to compete through the second round of the FCS Playoffs, holding Incarnate Word to just 13 points but taking a loss. Now they look to revamp on both sides of the ball to keep the success going.

The New Hampshire Wildcats ended at No. 24 in the FCS with a 8-5 overall, 6-2 conference record, and could very well see a repeat if incoming quarterback Matt Vezza rises to the ocassion in wake of quarterback Seth Morgan's departure.

The UAlbany Great Danes finished at 4-8 overall and 2-6 in conference play in 2024 after over a decade under head coach Greg Gattuso, who had just brought the squad to a 11-4 record in 2023. Gattuso has since exited the program and put it in the hands of interim head coach and former associate head coach Jared Ambrose ahead of a daunting 2025 season.

The Towson Tigers completed its most successful season in six years in 2024, and now hope to have another historical run in 2025. The Tigers finished at 7-5 overall and 5-2 in conference play, their best finish since 2019, led by quarterback Sean Brown.

The Stony Brook Seawolves dug themselves out of a winless season in 2023 into a 8-4 overall record in 2024, but are now without the quarterback that made it all possible in just one year.

The Rhode Island Rams are leaving a 11-3 overall, 7-1 conference record in 2024 and look to do it all over again with the return of their best performing quarterback and wide receiver duo, Devin Ferrell and Marquis Buchanan.

The Villanova Wildcats had a stunning 2024 season and recorded their second consecutive with 10 wins. They outscored their opponents by a combined 60 points over 14 games and went on to compete through the second round of the FCS Playoffs.
