NCAA D3 Football Roundup: Here's What To Know As Week 1 Approaches

Division III football is ready for its opening weekend with games starting Sept. 4. Take a look at what to expect in the opening week for D3.

With college football back and better than ever, the D3 schools will get their first taste of action during Week 1 with games starting on Sept 4. and wrapping up Sept 6. 

The first batch of preseason rankings dubbed North Central as the team to beat this season in the No.1 spot. The defending DIII national champions head into the opening week on a high note following a perfect 15-0 season in 2024. The Cardinals will head into the 2025 season under the veteran leadership of head coach Brad Spencer. They will open their season on Sep 13. against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. 

Other notable matchups to look at in week one include: Union Hill vs. No. 4 Susquehanna, No. 17  Wheaton (Ill.) vs. No.2 Mount Union, No. 18 Carnegie Melon vs. Chicago and No. 6 Hardin-Simmons vs. Chapman.  Please note that all rankings are from D3football.com
