The Rhode Island Rams are leaving a 11-3 overall, 7-1 conference record in 2024 and look to do it all over again with the return of their best performing quarterback and wide receiver duo, Devin Ferrell and Marquis Buchanan. 

The Rams nearly tied the Richmond Spiders for the top spot in the CAA conference, but made it to the FCS playoffs nonetheless, falling to No. 7-ranked Mercer by just one touchdown.

However, this year the team will be without one of its most reliable running backs in Malik Grant, who racked up over 1,400 rushing yards for the Rams. 

Rhode Island could still very well remain dominant in the CAA and FCS with Ferrell and Buchanan making their return, as Ferrell finished 2024 with nearly 2,000 passing yards and over 10 touchdowns and Buchanan racking up 1,124 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. 

Jim Fleming will stay at the helm for Rhode Island, entering his 12th season with the Rams after capturing his fifth consecutive season with a winning record and a program-best 11 wins. He also led Rhode Island to the 2024 CAA Football Championship title, its first ever, and a No. 10 seeding in the 2024 FCS Championship.
