For the second year in a row, a fourth quarter scoring barrage powered Elon Football to an upset win over CAA powerhouse William & Mary.

In 2019 when college football initiated its most significant changes to overtime rules since adding extra periods more than 20 years prior, the first Football Championship game decided with the format change was William & Mary's 31-29 defeat of Elon.

Towson and the University of New Hampshire will square off in Week 5 for a chance to climb up from the lowest rungs of the Coastal Athletic Association standings, as both teams are 0-1 early in the conference slate.

Week 5 isn't Homecoming at UAlbany — the 2023 edition of the annual celebration is slated for Oct. 21 — but the Great Danes' matchup with No. 16-ranked Villanova does indeed mark a homecoming after an adventure lasting more than a month.

William & Mary will visit Elon in Week 5 to take on their Coastal Athletic Association rival at Rhodes Stadium. They’ll be battling for control of the CAA standings as two of three teams in the league currently sitting at 2-0 in conference play. Delaware is the other.

Monmouth is hosting Lehigh, who will travel to West Long Branch, New Jersey, in Week 5 for the final nonconference game of the 2023 season for both teams. The matchup will take place at Monmouth’s 4,200-seat Kessler Stadium.

This fall, teams across five different Division I, Division II, and Division III conferences are set to battle it out live on FloFootball.

Elon sophomore running back Jalen Hampton was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week, while Villanova senior linebacker Brendan Bell and Delaware grad student defensive back Khalil Dawsey shared Defensive Player of the Week accolades. New Hampshire senior running back Dylan Laube was chosen as the Special Teams Player of the Week and Campbell freshman wide receiver VJ Wilkins was named the Rookie of the Week.

With the 2023 season three weeks in, the campaign is at the one-quarter mark. By weekend's end, each of the Coastal Athletic Association teams will have played a conference game and the initial pace for the league championship will be set.

The University of Rhode Island Rams will play the Villanova Wildcats in Week 4. The game will take place at Villanova Stadium in Villanova, Pennsylvania.

The Maine Black Bears will play the William & Mary Tribe in Week 4, and it will be the second Coastal Athletic Association game of the year for each.

The New Hampshire Wildcats, co-CAA champions in 2022, will play the Delaware Blue Hens in Week 4. The game will take place at Delaware Stadium (Tubby Raymond Field) in Newark, Delaware, on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. Eastern.

The Elon Phoenix will play their new Coastal Athletic Association foes, the Campbell Camels, in Week 4. They will face off at Barker-Lane Stadium in Buies Creek, North Carolina.

RICHMOND, Va. (September 18, 2023) – Campbell sophomore running back Na’Quari Rogers was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week, while William & Mary senior defensive end Nate Lynn was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week. Rhode Island freshman kicker Ty Groff and Elon junior punter Kyle Romenick shared Special Teams Player of the Week accolades and Delaware freshman defensive back KT Seay was named the Rookie of the Week.
