Central Washington Rallies Late To Hand UTPB First Loss Of Season

Central Washington storms back from a halftime deficit to beat UTPB 27-14, sealing the win with a late pick-six to end the Falcons’ unbeaten season.

No. 13 Central Washington flipped the script in Odessa, rallying from a 7-3 halftime deficit to hand UTPB their first loss of the season.

After a slow start, the Wildcats found rhythm behind Kennedy McGill’s late touchdown run and David Weber’s clutch 44-yard field goal.

UTPB’s offense stalled down the stretch, and a Javonte Walker pick-six sealed it with under a minute left.

One week after the Falcons spoiled Angelo State’s perfect run, CWU returned the favor — closing strong, controlling the clock, and slamming the door on the Falcons’ comeback hopes.

The game will no doubt have major implications for the LSC this season, and possibly reverberate into the D2 playoffs.
