D2 Football Rankings 2025 Week 4

Week 4's slate of D2 football felt like a warm blanket after the chaos of Week 3. 

In stark contrast, last week deserved its own grimy Netflix series. Some of the chaos agents who had emerged from the shadows returned just as quickly.

Others, meanwhile, began to assimilate—folding themselves into the rhythm of the rankings, at least for now.

Nearly every Top 25 team won their game this week, but in some ways it feels like the Top 5 are closer than ever. 

Ferris State decimated an NAIA team 76-0, but by our weighted voting system, Harding actually moved closer to No. 1 and West Florida isn't far behind. 

After that, it's a cavalcade of teams breathing down their necks: Kutztown, Angelo State, Slippery Rock, Western Colorado, GVSU, and West Alabama.

The biggest riser this week? Would you believe it's Wingate. They are 3-0. Their offense is scoring 43 points a game and their defense has looked stout, but the meat of their schedule is coming: Carson-Newman, Newberry, Catawba and Emory & Henry.

Teams outside the Top 25 to watch? Clarion and Arkansas Tech. Clarion is scoring 41 points a game, and Arkansas Tech is allowing only 11 points a game.
