After 11 weeks of the 2025 NCAA D2 football season, it is finally Selection Sunday!

The American International Yellowjackets head to Manchester, N.H., this Saturday, Oct. 11, to face off against the Saint Anselm Hawks in an NE10 football clash.

The Franklin Pierce Ravens and the Bentley Falcons meet on Saturday, Sept. 20, in a Northeast-10 Conference clash that could set the tone for the rest of their seasons. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET at Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.

Slippery Rock kicked off their season with a hard-fought 24-13 win over Franklin Pierce at Sodexo Field in Rindge, NH, though it was not the most dominant game from last season's D2 playoffs semifinalist.

Week 0 gave us a wild entry into the 2025 D2 football season, but Week 1 is where things really begin to take shape.

There were a few big-ticket winners in Week 0 of the 2025-26 D2 Football campaign, and a few underachievers.

With Adrian Parker returning as the reigning NE10 Offensive Player of the Year at quarterback, Franklin Pierce football could have a big season in 2025. After Parker threw for 2,888 yards and 22 touchdowns to lead the Ravens to a 5-5 record, the team is hungry for more.

Saint Anselm football could be on the brink of making history in 2025. Looking to reach seven wins for the first time in program history, the Hawks are already off to a groundbreaking start. Following 2024's third place finish in NE10 play, the Hawks were voted to finish second in the NE10 Preseason Poll, their highest ranking ever.

Assumption football head coach Andy McKenzie is going into his seventh season in 2025 and he knows what it takes to win in conference play. In 2025, he’s looking to match the success he had in 2022, when he led the Greyhounds to an 8-3 record, losing just one conference game and claiming the NE10 conference title.

Picked to finish seventh in the NE10, Pace football is looking to turn the page in 2025. After a 2-8 season in 2024, the Setters are moving on and ready for a completely different team to take the field.

Southern Connecticut State Football has added Joe Loth as the new head coach of the Owls, hoping his history of winning can turn the program around in 2025.

Assumption Football is looking to follow up on its 6-4 record in 2025 and has several returning veterans looking to lead the charge. Picked to finish third in the NE10, tied with Franklin Pierce in the preseason standings, the Greyhounds are looking to stand out in conference play.

In 2025, Southern Connecticut State football was picked to finish fifth in the NE10, and the Owls are looking for their first winning season since 2016. Winning will be a challenge for the Owls as they lost many key offensive players and currently don’t have a quarterback who has seen game action.

Following their third-place finish in NE10 play in 2024, the Saint Anselm football program was picked second in the NE10 2025 preseason poll, their highest placement ever. The Hawks will have a veteran team in 2025, returning four All-NE10 players.
