Watch UMass vs. Duquesne LIVE on FloFootball

Last year, in the first event to air live FloSports’ foray into football, we saw head coach Pat Surtain Sr. lead American Heritage (FL)—featuring one of the most loaded high school defenses we’ve ever seen—into Virginia Beach, Va., against eventual Ohio State Buckeye Teradja Mitchell and national powerhouse Bishop Sullivan (VA).

We’ve all slept since then, so here’s a refresher:

Bishop Sullivan played with the lead for most of the game, thanks to a defense that was clearly intent on letting the rest of us know that the Patriots weren’t the only ones armed with a hit stick.

American Heritage eventually went 13-0 and won its second consecutive state title, though. Which means they must’ve rallied in this one—and they did.

Playing without the nation’s top cornerback prospect, the Patriot D kept it close. Finally, trailing 7-6 with 1:25 to go, Cornhusker Miles Jones found paydirt from 10 yards out:

And, then, Nesta Silvera (Miami), Andrew Chatfield (Florida) and Tyson Campbell (Georgia) sounded off:

In our sophomore season, we’ve raised the bar, bringing subscribers the first college football game of the 2018 season.

A Duquesne squad that expects to win its fifth Northeast Conference title in eight years will make the trip to Amherst, Mass., to take on the most talented UMass team in over a decade in a clash that features a pair of stud ball carriers: first team All-NEC running back AJ Hines and Doak Walker Award hopeful Marquis Young.

The Minutemen, for their part, have their eyes on a bowl game. To get the ship moving in that direction, however, quarterback Andrew Ford—who led the nation’s 17th-ranked passing offense a year ago—will need to navigate waters that will be a bit shark-infested with Abner Roberts and Jonathant Istache patrolling the secondary for the Dukes.

The Duquesne offense, while heavily stocked with talent, will need to replace quarterback Tommy Stuart. Of course, that replacement is none other than Florida Atlantic transfer Daniel Parr, so an FBS defense—even one featuring Bryton Barr in the middle—is not automatic cause for concern in Pittsburgh.

All eyes will be on McGuirk Alumni Stadium in the heart of New England on Saturday, as college football comes out of hibernation with a bang. You can watch from anywhere LIVE on FloFootball at 5:30 PM ET.
