No. 1 Ferris State rolled past Kentucky Christian 73-6 on Homecoming, improving to 4-0 and extending its school-record winning streak to 34 games. The Bulldogs led 35-0 after the first quarter and 59-0 at halftime before completing the victory at Top Taggart Field.

Kentucky Christian broke through for its first points of the game as Christopher Phillips connected with Malachi Elick for a 5-yard touchdown. The score capped an eight-play, 75-yard drive and cut Ferris State’s lead to 73-6 with 4:39 remaining.

Marcel Jones Breaks 37-Yard Touchdown Run As Ferris State Leads 73-0

Ferris State opened the fourth quarter with another touchdown as Marcel Jones broke free for a 37-yard scoring run. The touchdown capped an eight-play, 90-yard drive that began late in the third quarter and extended the Bulldogs’ lead over Kentucky Christian to 73-0.

Ferris State continued its first-quarter rout as Chase Carter connected with Zak Ahern for a 23-yard touchdown. The score capped a six-play, 62-yard drive and gave the Bulldogs a 35-0 lead over Kentucky Christian with 3:16 remaining in the opening quarter.

Wyatt Bower Finds Dakari Neely For 49-Yard Ferris State Touchdown

Ferris State extended its fast start with another explosive scoring drive. Chase Carter connected with Tae Boyd for a 28-yard touchdown, capping a four-play, 65-yard drive and giving the Bulldogs a 21-0 lead over Kentucky Christian midway through the first quarter.

Kentucky Christian is an NAIA program that enters Saturday’s game with a 1-3 record. The Knights opened the season with a win over NCAA Division II opponent Kentucky Wesleyan before losses to two Division I opponents and Faulkner. Jason Aubry is in his fourth season as Kentucky Christian’s head coach. Saturday marks the first meeting between Kentucky Christian and Ferris State.

Wyatt Bower Leads Ferris State Offense Into Homecoming

Wyatt Bower has emerged as the engine of the Ferris State offense. The sophomore quarterback has completed 67.3% of his passes for 510 yards while adding a team-high 263 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Bower has generated 773 yards of total offense through the Bulldogs' first three games.

Ferris State Rushing Attack Has Powered 3-0 Start

Ferris State enters Saturday averaging 314 rushing yards per game, including 942 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns through three games. Quarterback Wyatt Bower leads the Bulldogs with 263 rushing yards, while Zak Ahern has 172. Ferris State's opponents have yet to score a rushing touchdown this season.

Ferris State Has Dominated At Top Taggart Field

The Bulldogs haven't lost at Top Taggart Field since the 2022 regular season. Ferris State carries a 30-game home winning streak into Saturday, the longest active home winning streak in Division II. The Bulldogs have won 82 of their past 89 home games dating to 2013.  

Ferris State Football Has Won Eight Straight Homecoming Games

Homecoming has become another showcase for Ferris State. The Bulldogs have won eight consecutive Homecoming games and 25 of their past 35. Ferris State has scored at least 69 points in three of its past four Homecoming games, including a 76-0 victory over Rio Grande last season. Ferris State Football Brings 33-Game Winning Streak Into Kentucky Christian Game

Ferris State enters Saturday riding a school-record 33-game winning streak, the longest active streak across NCAA football. The run dates to a season-opening loss at Pittsburg State in 2024. A win over Kentucky Christian would tie Hillsdale's 34-game run from 1954-57 for the third-longest winning streak in Division II history.

Ferris State vs. Kentucky Christian Is A First-Time Matchup

Saturday's Homecoming game will be the first meeting between Ferris State and Kentucky Christian. It's Ferris State's third game against an NAIA opponent since 2022. The Bulldogs defeated Waldorf 69-3 in 2022 and Rio Grande 76-0 last season, with both games also coming on Homecoming weekend.
