With each week, we learn a bit more about where this Division 2 football season might be headed, but just when we think we know something, the football gods tell us otherwise.

In Week 0, Virginia Union scored three points against a Lenoir-Rhyne team that looked like they were immediately pushing for an SAC title. Now, less than a month later, VUU has rattled off three convincing wins and sits at No. 21 in the FloCollege top 25. LR dropped 45 points on the Panthers, but has only managed one win since then against Newberry, and only scored seven points against Mars Hill this past weekend.

Central Washington has been at the top of the LSC for the past few seasons, but not dissimilar to Pitt State last season, they lost to an FCS team in the opening week, then Ferris State. They defeated conference rival Western Oregon this past weekend, 45-36, in what was supposed to be the Wolves' coming of age moment. Slippery Rock is back; GVSU is back. Henderson State has joined the party.

Four undefeated G-MAC teams entered their games this past weekend, and only two made it out. Northwood defeated Hillsdale 10-7, and Walsh crushed Lake Erie, 28-7. This week, Northwood takes on No. 8 Findlay, and Walsh plays Ashland. Two big games as both teams look to continue their rise.
