Both Teams Are Looking To Post Winning Records
The Bears of Morgan State are looking to fight their way to their first winning season since going 6-5 in 2009. The Aggies of North Carolina A&T endured their fourth losing season in five years last year, going 2-10 overall and 2-6 in CAA play. Both teams will be biting at the bit to win this one, and it could set the tone for the rest of the season.
North Carolina A&T Is Home To One Of The Nation’s Best Punt Returners
One of the best punt returners in Division I-FCS is NCAT’s Elijah Kennedy. Last season, the senior earned second-team recognition for his efforts. He returned 18 punts for 294 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 16.1 yards per return to lead the conference and rank second nationally. Those two touchdowns ranked him second in the nation and first in the CAA in punt returns for touchdowns.
Veteran Quarterback Cameron Edge Will Command The Bears Offense
Transfer quarterback Cameron Edge will lead the Morgan State Bears offense this season. A four-star recruit, Edge spent three seasons on the roster with the University of Maryland Terrapins, seeing action in four games. He then transferred to Eastern Michigan during the 2025 season before finding his final home with the Bears. The Clayton, Del. native impressed coaches during spring practice with his poise, decision-making and command of the offense. His experience and ability to make plays will give the Bears added versatility and a veteran presence behind the line.
