What Happened in 2025 for GVSU?

GVSU is coming off a respectable 7-3 season in 2025, with their 3 losses coming from a combined total of 12 points.

For the GLIAC blueblood, 2025 was considered a lackluster season, especially considering the Lakers were the GLIAC champions in 2022 and 2023. 

The dagger last season in 2025 was GVSU’s razor-close loss against their in-state rivals of Ferris State. Their matchup in 2025 was an electric shootout that consisted of 69 total points, 895 yards of offense, and ended (38-31) with GVSU behind by only 7 points.

This loss to Ferris State late in the season led to GVSU falling short of the Division 2 playoffs, and allowed for Ferris State’s 2025 victorious playoff campaign, in which Ferris State won the 2025 NCAA Division 2 Football championship.
