First 16-0 Season in Modern Football
On Saturday, December 20, 2025, Ferris State claimed their fourth national football title in five years, dominating Harding 42-21 in McKinney, Texas.
Ferris State closed out the 2025 campaign with a 16-0 record, making the Bulldogs the first NCAA Division I or II team in modern football to finish with a perfect 16-0 mark.
NCAA Single-Season Scoring Record

With a whopping 844 points on the year (52.8/game), the Bulldogs scored the most points that the NCAA has ever seen: D1 included.
NCAA Single-Season Touchdown Record
Three national records would be the magic number for Ferris State in 2025.
The Bulldogs scored 117 (yes, one-hundred-and-seventeen) touchdowns during last year’s campaign. The three-digit mark broke the NCAA record for most touchdowns, including Oklahoma’s 99 tuddys in 2008.
Single-Game Total Offense School Record
On October 4, 2025, Ferris State set a new school record for total offense in a shutout 66-0 win at Roosevelt. The Bulldogs posted 788 total yards of offense, eclipsing the 767 yards set in a 2014 home win over Tiffin.
The offensive performance in Illinois marked the sixth time in program history in which Ferris State totaled 700 or more offensive yards in one game.
Consecutive Wins School Record
Ferris State recorded their 20th consecutive win with a 59-0 victory over Wayne State on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Their third-straight shutout matched a 1970 school record, as the Bulldogs had outscored their opponents 201-0 in those three battles.
The Bulldogs sit at 30 consecutive wins as they enter the 2026 season - the second-longest win streak in D2 history. To add another D2 record to their shelves, they will have to surpass Grand Valley State’s 40 wins, tallied during the 2005-07 campaigns.
Ferris State kicks off Week 0 of the 2026 D2 football season on Thursday, August 27 as they face No. 4 ranked Pittsburg State - the last team that could upend the Bulldogs, back in 2024.
