Just over a month from now, the 2026 NCAA Division II football season will officially kick off on Aug. 27, 2026, with teams across the country training and preparing for their pursuit of the national championship. 

With the regular season just ahead, fans are already looking toward the postseason and wondering when the road to the title begins.

The Division football playoff games are hosted directly on the campuses of the higher-seeded teams throughout the single-elimination games.

The championship game will be held at the McKinney ISD Stadium in McKinney, Texas, as it has been since 2018.
