William & Mary Rallies Past Elon 26-21 in Key CAA Football Battle

William & Mary storms back from a halftime deficit to defeat Elon 26–21, improving to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in CAA play after a thrilling home comeback.

William & Mary defeated Elon 26–21 in a tightly contested CAA matchup in Williamsburg.

Elon opened strong, taking a 14–3 lead midway through the second quarter behind Landen Clark’s passing and Isaiah Fuhrmann’s 47-yard touchdown. 

William & Mary closed the half with a late score to trail 14-10, setting up a major momentum shift after the break. 

In the third quarter, William & Mary surged ahead with two touchdowns and a safety, flipping the game to a 26–14 advantage. Elon responded early in the fourth with a Clark rushing touchdown, but the Tribe defense held firm, forcing a late turnover to seal the win. 

The comeback demonstrated William & Mary’s resilience at home and lifted the Tribe to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in CAA play, strengthening their conference standing. Elon fell to 4-4 and 2-2 in league action, dropping a second straight game after a promising start to the season.

William & Mary Football Top Elon 26-21

William & Mary earn the win against Elon, improving their overall record to 4-3 and their conference record to 3-1. The Tribe had a slow start, but they came alive in the second half. The team used the home game energy to their advantage to top Elon.

Elon played a solid game and commanded play in the first half. But when William & Mary found their rhythm,  the Phoenix weren't able to put enough points on the board to keep up.
