NCAA D3 Football Roundup: Here's What To Know In Week 6
Week 6 of the NCAA football season is on the horizon. As the D3 teams get ready to kickoff action on Oct. 11, here is a roundup of all things D3 in Week 6!

Week 5 of NCAA D3 college football is in the books! With another action packed and potentially chaos filled weekend on the horizon, let’s see what the upcoming week has in store for D3.

In an eventful Week 5, several D3 teams lived up to their expectations, while several fell just short. This week saw a couple upsets and high scoring games across the D3 landscape.
With Week 6 on the horizon, there is so much football to look forward to at the D3 level especially with the rankings shaking up as much as they have. With top ranked teams getting some action, here’s a look ahead for this week in D3 football.
NCAA Division III Football Week 5 Recap
Week 5 of Division III football saw a top-ranked and receiving vote matchup, a Texas school vs. Texas school matchup, close scores and some massive wins for teams all across the division. Here is a look back and some of the biggest action in Week 4 of D3 football.
Otterbein vs. No. 2 Mount Union Football
In Alliance, OH on the eve of Mount Union’s homecoming, the Purple Raiders walked away with a massive Week 5 win.
No.2-ranked Mount Union not only lived up to its expectations but exceeded them by walking away with a 62-7 victory over Otterbein. In the victory, the Purple Raiders tallied 449 yards of offense on the day.
Quarterback Mikey Maloney was 7-for-13 on pass completion with 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Otterbein tallied 290 yards in the contest against the Purple Raiders. Quarterback Brayden Bayles was 13-for-22 on pass completion with 106 yards. Christian Pataky was the only player for Otterbein to cross the goal line in the contest. Pataky gained two yards on two carries with one rushing touchdown.
Marietta vs. Ohio Northern Football
In another high scoring Week 5 matchup, Marietta headed to Ada, OH to take on Ohio Northern.
Ohio Northern came away from the Week 5 matchup with a commanding 42-9 victory over Marietta. In the victory, the Polar Bears tallied 434 yards of offense. Quarterback Sam Feldman was 21-for-30 on pass completion with 280 yards and three touchdown passes.
The Pioneers tallied 251 yards of offense in the contest. Quarterback Antwon Johnson was 14-for-25 with 176 yards. Zion Jackson-Wilborn was the leading rusher for Marietta with 22 yards on seven carries with one touchdown.
A Glimpse At This Week’s D3 Football Matchups
With all of the D3 matchups scheduled for kickoff as early as 12:00 PM ET on Oct. 11, here is a look at some of the most anticipated matches in the D3 football calendar.
No. 2 Mount Union vs. Wilmington College Football
The No. 2-ranked Purple Raiders are back on the road as they will travel to Wilmington, OH to take on Wilmington College.
Mount Union will look to continue its undefeated season on Oct. 11. The Purple Raiders are 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in OAC play.
Wilmington College is back in action after having a bye week in Week 5. The Quakers are 1-3 overall and 0-3 on OAC play. In the most recent contest on Sept. 27, the Quakers were defeated in a close contest against Ohio Northern, 41-35.
In the loss, Wilmington tallied 570 yards of offense. Quarterback Isaac Ross was 21-for-38 on pass completion with 417 yards and three touchdowns.
Pacific (OR) vs. Linfield Football
The NWC is in full action in Week 6 as Pacific (OR) will travel to McMinnville, Ore. to take on Linfield.
Pacific heads into the contest 1-3 on the season and 0-1 in NWC. The Boxers are hoping to get back in the win column after a Week 5 loss to Whitworth University 28-14. In the loss, the Boxers tallied 294 yards of offense. Quarterback Keaton Smith was 16-for-34 on pass completion with 189 yards and two touchdown tosses.
Linfield returns to its home stadium after being on the road on Oct. 4 to take on George Fox. The Wildcats will hope to continue their winning ways after taking a 35-17 victory over George Fox. In the victory, the Wildcats tallied 339 yards of offense. Quarterback Linn McNabb was 17-for-32 with 169 yards and three touchdowns.
