Another week of the NCAA football season has come and gone and for D3 fans, chaos ensued in Week 5.

From big wins to upsets, and everything in between, the D3 rankings saw a shakeup this week. In the AFCA rankings, the top three stay pretty much the same. North Central (Ill.) holds down the top spot in yet another week. The Cardinals have held the top spot since the preseason poll.

Spots two and three also hold the usual suspects. Mount Union holds down the second spot for another week. The Purple Raiders are 4-0 on the season and have been in the second spot since the preseason. Johns Hopkins confidently holds down the three spot in this week’s D3 rankings.  Johns Hopkins has held down the three spot with its 4-0 record.

Spot four sees a new face in Week 5 of the AFCA rankings. UW-La Crosse jumps in the rankings into the four spot this week. After being previously-ranked fifth, UW-La Crosse moves up one spot now with a 3-0 record after defeating previously-ranked No.10 UW-Whitewater, 23-20 in double overtime.

Rounding out the top-five in this week’s D3 Top-25 is Salisbury. Salisbury moves into the top-five after being previously-ranked sixth. Salisbury finds itself in this position after now moving to 4-0 on the season and after a Week 5 win over TCNJ, 55-10.
