D1 FCS Football Roundup: Here's What To Know About FCS This Week
The FCS schools are back in action for another week of NCAA football! With top matchups on the horizon and CAA play in full swing, here's the FCS roundup!

In an already eventful 2025 season, NCAA football keeps moving right along. In D1, the FCS schools are pulling out all of the stops in the early weeks.

From huge wins, crazy upsets and nailbiters until the very end, the FCS schools are showing up and showing out and Week 4 will be no different.
FloCollege is home to CAA and Butler football for the 2025 season and with both groups in action for Week 4, a roundup is just what the football fans ordered. This roundup will cover some of the main trends in the Top-25 for FCS, games you should keep your eye on in Week 4 and all things CAA standings up to this point!
So, without further ado, may we present the FCS Roundup!
The FCS Football Rankings Review
The AFCA FCS Coaches poll laid it all on the line heading into Week 4. This week’s rankings saw three of 14 CAA schools in the Top-25.
Rhode Island, Monmouth and Villanova all find themselves in the Top- 25 in various positions in the most recent rankings. Rhode Island sits the highest of the CAA schools currently ranked seventh. Monmouth jumped four spots after its victory in Week 3, putting the team in 14th heading into competition on Sept. 27. Villanova took a drop after the loss to Monmouth in the previous week, landing the team at 22nd for the current week’s rankings.

A Glimpse At This Week’s CAA Matchups
With all of the CAA action slated to begin as early as 1:00PM ET on Saturday, Sept. 27, here is a look at all things CAA football and the top matches to be aware of heading into the new week of NCAA football!
UAlbany vs. New Hampshire
One of the earliest CAA matchups on Sept. 27 features UAlbany taking on New Hampshire. This contest will be the start of CAA play for the Great Danes and the Wildcats.
The UAlbany Great Danes head into the contest 1-3 on the season. In the most recent contest on Sept. 13, the Great Danes walked away with a win over Cornell 13-10. In the victory, the Great Danes tallied 268 yards of offense. Jojo Uga was the leading rusher for UAlbany with 126 yards on 18 carries with one touchdown.
New Hampshire enters the contest 2-2 on the season. The Wildcats are hoping to get back in the win column after suffering a loss to Dartmouth on Sept. 20. In the one-score loss, the Wildcats tallied 361 yards of offense. Quarterback Matt Vezza was 22-for-35 on pass completion with 273 yards and one touchdown toss.
William & Mary vs. No. 22 Villanova
The second game CAA fans should keep their eyes on this week is when William & Mary takes on No.22-ranked Villanova. This will be the second CAA game for each school.
William & Mary is 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. The Tribe will enter the contest rolling on momentum from a 34-7 victory over Charleston Southern. In the victory, the Tribe tallied 449 yards of offense. Quarterback Tyler Hughes was 22-for-33 on pass completion with 296 yards and four touchdown passes.
Villanova enter the contest 1-2 on the season at 0-1 in CAA play. The Wildcats hope to get back into the win column after suffering a CAA loss to Monmouth on Sept. 20. In the 51-33 loss, Villanova tallied 498 yards of offense. Pat McQuaide was 25-for-43 on pass completion with 333 yards and two touchdown tosses.
The Butler Bulldog Bark
FloCollege isn’t just the home of CAA football! It also is the home of the Butler Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are currently 2-2 on the 2025 season and will kick off Pioneer Football League play on Sept. 27.
Butler will play host to Marist at the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl in Indianapolis, Ind. The Bulldogs will hope to get back to their winning ways after taking a loss on Sept. 20 to Weber State 38-24. In the loss, Butler tallied 248 yards of offense on the day. Gabe Passini was 5-for-9 on pass completion with 51 yards and a touchdown toss. Passini was also the leading rusher for the Bulldogs with 176 yards on 23 carries and one rushing touchdown.
