All eyes were on the G-MAC on Saturday, Oct. 4 as two 4-0 teams in Findlay and Walsh met in North Canton, Ohio to determine who would take the top spot in the conference in the first weekend of football in October.

This match-up was one of the most competitive of the weekend in D2—check out the full 50+ game FloCollege broadcast schedule to see what's streaming live this week.

Walsh Cavaliers, who hadn't won more games than they lost in a single season since joining the NCAA, found themselves with four wins and no losses and sniffing a top 25 ranking heading into the game.

Walsh's biggest win this season was over G-MAC opponent Ohio Dominican the week before, 14-7.

The Findlay Oilers were already being compared to the best at their level with a season-opening win over No. 17 Indianapolis in early September.

Findlay has won nine of the last ten meetings but the Cavaliers were riding at full gallup this season and had the home-field advantage. That wasn't enough for to stop the Oilers this time, though.

Read the game recap, scores and watch highlights for Findlay vs Walsh football.

30 Minutes Til Kickoff: Game Day At Findlay

A Defensive Battle May Be Ahead

Findlay and Walsh have both allowed less than 48 points this season, making them the top 5 in Division II football at keeping their opponents from scoring.

Walsh's 46% 3rd down conversion percentage (top in the G-MAC) will be a key stat to watch as they try to convert in high pressure situations and exploit Findlay's weakness, only stopping opponents on third down 27.9% of the time (2nd worst in the G-MAC).

Keep an eye out for Findlay going for it on 4th down. So far this season, the Oilers found themselves on 4th down eight times. They were able to convert seven out of eight times.
