Five CAA Teams Represented In Top 25 Ahead Of Regular-Season Finales

Heading into the final week of regular-season play, five CAA Football teams are nationally ranked in the latest Stats Perform and AFCA Coaches FCS Top 25 polls that were released on Monday.

William & Mary (9-1) remained at #8 in both polls after defeating Villanova, 45-12, last Saturday to improve to 9-1 for the first time since 2009. The Tribe takes a six-game winning streak into this week’s rivalry contest against No. 11 Richmond.

Richmond (8-2) climbed to No. 11 both sets of rankings following a 21-13 victory at nationally ranked Delaware last week. The Spiders bring a five-game winning streak into their home finale against No. 8 William & Mary on Saturday.

Elon (8-3) vaulted to No. 14 in the Stats poll and No. 18 in the AFCA poll after beating Hampton, 38-24, last Saturday to close the regular season on a three-game winning streak. The 8-3 mark is the best for the Phoenix since 2017.

New Hampshire (7-3) moved up to No. 18 in the Stats ranking and No. 20 in the AFCA ranking after winning a 31-28 thriller over nationally ranked Rhode Island last week. The Wildcats visit rival Maine on Saturday.

Delaware (7-3) slipped to No. 19 in the AFCA poll and No. 20 in the Stats poll after its narrow 21-13 setback to nationally ranked Richmond. The Blue Hens travel to rival Villanova on Saturday.

Rhode Island (6-4) is among other teams receiving votes in both polls.
