CAA Football had 13 players recognized on the 2022 HERO Sports FCS Preseason All-America team.

CAA Football had 13 players recognized on the 2022 HERO Sports FCS Preseason All-America team.

New Hampshire sophomore defensive lineman Josiah Silver was chosen to the first team.

Making the second team were Richmond graduate student wide receiver Jakob Herres, Villanova senior offensive lineman Michael Corbi, Stony Brook graduate student offensive lineman Kyle Nunez, William & Mary junior defensive lineman Nate Lynn, Richmond junior linebacker Tristan Wheeler and Delaware senior safety Kedrick Whitehead.

Selected to the third team were Hampton senior wide receiver Jadakis Bonds, Rhode Island junior offensive lineman Nick Correia, William & Mary senior offensive lineman Colby Sorsdal, New Hampshire junior running back/returner Dylan Laube, Rhode Island senior defensive back Jordan Jones and Monmouth graduate student punter Ryan Kost.

Silver received second-team All-America and first-team All-CAA accolades in 2021. He was honored as the CAA Defensive Rookie of the Year and was a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, which is presented to the top freshman in FCS football. Silver contributed 80 tackles, 20.5 TFL, 12.5 sacks and six forced fumbles for UNH last season.

Herres, a transfer from VMI, caught 47 passes for 500 yards and 5 touchdowns in only eight games for the Keydets last fall. He has 226 receptions for 3,006 yards and 26 TDs in his career. 

Corbi was a second-team All-America pick last year after spearheading an offensive line that allowed just 14 sacks and helped Villanova average 30.0 points per game. 

Nunez, a four-time All-CAA honoree, helped Stony Brook average 176.1 yards on the ground with 19 TD's last season. 

Lynn recorded 52 tackles and was among FCS leaders with 12 sacks and six forced fumbles to garner first-team All-America honors in 2021. 

Wheeler, a three-time All-CAA selection, topped the conference with 114 tackles and intercepted two passes in 2021 to garner All-America accolades. 

Whitehead, an All-America choice for the past two seasons, tallied 76 tackles and eight pass breakups a year ago.

Bonds topped Hampton with 54 receptions for 773 yards and six touchdowns last season, after making a school-record 15 TD grabs in 2019. 

Correia, who has started 26 straight games at guard, helped URI's offense average better than 25 points per game and received all-conference recognition. 

Sorsdal was a third-team All-CAA pick last season after helping W&M rank 16th nationally with 205.5 rushing yards per game. 

Laube rushed for 501 yards and 4 TDs, caught 22 passes for 206 yards and averaged 21.7 yards on kickoff returns for the Wildcats in 2021. 

Jones made the AP All-America second team last season after recording 36 tackles, eight pass breakups and ranking among the nation's leaders with six interceptions. 

Kost ranked eighth nationally by averaging 44.3 yards per punt and made the All-Big South first team for the second time.
