Delaware Sweeps CAA Weekly Awards

A trio of Delaware players made this week's CAA Award List the undisputed home of the Blue Hens.

Delaware Sweeps CAA Weekly Awards

CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 8 of the spring 2021 season. Delaware senior running back Dejoun Lee earned Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Blue Hens’ sophomore safety Noah Plack received Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Delaware sophomore kicker Ryan Coe was selected as the Special Teams Player of the Week. 

CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Dejoun Lee, Sr., RB, Delaware (Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock)

Lee rushed for a team-high 109 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in Delaware’s 34-14 victory at Delaware State. The senior had scoring runs of seven and 14 yards in the first half and then broke loose for 53 yards in the third quarter to set up another TD. It was the second straight game with 100+ yards for Lee, who also made three receptions for 40 yards against the Hornets.

CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Noah Plack, So., S, Delaware (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette)

Plack recorded a season and game-high eight tackles to lead a strong effort from the Delaware defense in its 34-14 win at Delaware State. The sophomore, who made five stops in the first quarter, paced a Blue Hens’ defense that limited DSU to 186 total yards and forced four turnovers. Plack is second on the team with 17 tackles for the season.

CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Ryan Coe, So., PK, Delaware (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette)

Coe went 2-for-2 on field goals and converted all four extra point attempts in Delaware’s triumph at Delaware State. The sophomore booted a 38-yard field goal late in the first quarter and added a 24-yard field goal in the fourth period. For the season, Coe is 6-for-10 on field goals and 17-for-17 on PAT’s.
