On the heels of back-to-back playoff runs, Euless Trinity head coach Chris Jensen is working with a much younger squad in 2020, but its a group that has already shown flashes of fulfilling its potential a little earlier than some may have expected.

The Trojans have sandwiched a tight loss to Prosper with a pair of extremely impressive outings. The first, a 35-28 victory over Arlington Lamar in the season opener, followed most recently by a 63-0 thrashing at Saginaw Boswell — an eye-popping performance that saw Trinity dominate in all three phases.

Running back AJ Barnett, who totaled 832 yards and nine touchdowns in a complimentary role last season is being counted upon to carry the rushing load offensively this season, with 6-foot-3, 190-pound basketball star Marcus Ervin providing some electricity from the quarterback spot. Defensively, it has been vaunted defensive tackle Poukesi Vakauta anchoring a talented unit.

Bell was expected by many to be more competitive than what they've shown thus far, with a backfield that would appear to be loaded with speed and ability — featuring the likes of Xavier Hall, Alama Lilo and Nolan Cornish, along with quarterback Alec Esquivel.

But the Blue Raiders enter Thursday's showdown with Euless Trinity starving for a breakthrough performance after being shutout twice in their first three games of the season.
