Four CAA Teams Ranked In Latest Top 25

HIGHLIGHTS: JMU vs William & Mary

Four CAA teams were ranked in the latest FCS Top 25 national polls that were released by STATS and the AFCA on Monday, including two in the Top 10.

James Madison remained at No. 2 in both polls after defeating William & Mary, 38-10, for its seventh consecutive victory last week. The Dukes (7-1), who have played five of their first eight games on the road, host nationally ranked Towson on Saturday.

Villanova was on a bye last week but moved up two spots to No. 5 in the STATS poll and one place to No. 6 in the AFCA poll. The Wildcats (6-1), who have had five of their seven contests on the road, entertain Stony Brook this week.

Towson jumped to No. 16 in the STATS poll and No. 17 in the AFCA poll after rolling past Bucknell, 56-7, last Saturday. The Tigers face a big challenge this week as they visit No. 2 James Madison.

Delaware climbed to No. 19 in both polls following its 16-10 triumph over nationally ranked New Hampshire last Saturday. The Blue Hens are back at home against Richmond this week.

Four more CAA teams – Stony Brook, New Hampshire, UAlbany, and Elon – were among other teams receiving votes in the STATS poll. New Hampshire and UAlbany also received votes in the AFCA poll.

CAA Football’s four ranked teams is tied with the Missouri Valley for the second-most among FCS conferences, trailing only the Big Sky with five.
