Five CAA Football teams were ranked in the latest FCS Top 25 national polls that were released by STATS and the AFCA on Monday.
Five CAA Football teams were ranked in the latest FCS Top 25 national polls that were released by STATS and the AFCA on Monday, including New Hampshire making its first appearance of the season.
James Madison remained at No. 2 in both polls after rallying past No. 5 Villanova, 38-24, last week. The Dukes (6-1), who are on a six-game winning streak, travel to in-state rival William & Mary on Saturday.
Villanova slipped two spots to No.7 in both polls following its 38-24 setback at No. 2 James Madison. The Wildcats (6-1), who had their winning streak snapped at six, have a bye this week.
Towson dropped to No. 18 in the STATS poll and No. 20 in the AFCA poll after falling 38-21 to UAlbany last Saturday. The Tigers (3-3) entertain non-conference foe Bucknell this week.
New Hampshire vaulted into the rankings at No. 22 in the STATS poll and No. 23 in the AFCA poll after its 20-14 victory at Stony Brook last week. The Wildcats (4-2), who have won four straight, are back on this Saturday at Delaware.
Delaware fell to No. 24 in both polls after suffering a 42-7 setback at Elon last Saturday. The Blue Hens return home to meet nationally ranked New Hampshire this week.
Five more CAA teams – Stony Brook, Maine, Elon, UAlbany and Richmond – were among other teams receiving votes in the STATS poll. Stony Brook and Elon also received votes in the AFCA poll.
CAA Football’s five ranked teams is tied with the Big Sky and Missouri Valley for the most among FCS conferences.
