CAA Tops All Conferences With Six Teams Ranked In Latest FCS Top 25 Poll
CAA Football led all conferences with six teams ranked in the latest STATS FCS Top 25 poll that was released on Monday.
CAA Football led all conferences with six teams ranked in the latest STATS FCS Top 25 poll that was released on Monday. Five CAA squads were also in the AFCA Coaches Top 25 poll, which was tied for the most of any league.
James Madison remained at No. 2 in both polls following a convincing 44-7 triumph over St. Francis (Pa.) last week. The Dukes (1-1) are back at home this Saturday against Morgan State.
Maine is ranked No. 7 in the STATS Top 25 and No. 9 in the AFCA Top 25 after its narrow 26-18 setback at FBS foe Georgia Southern. The Black Bears (1-1) entertain Towson in a highly anticipated matchup on Saturday night.
Towson is ranked No. 8 in both polls after rolling past North Carolina Central, 42-3, last Saturday. The Tigers (2-0) travel to Maine on Saturday night in a clash of Top 10 teams.
Delaware jumped to No. 18 in the STATS and AFCA rankings following its thrilling 44-36 triple-overtime victory at Rhode Island last week. The Blue Hens (2-0) are at home against No. 1 North Dakota State on Saturday afternoon.
Villanova moved up to No. 22 in the STATS poll and entered the AFCA rankings at No. 23 after topping Lehigh, 38-10, in its home opener. The Wildcats (2-0) make the short trip to Bucknell on Saturday.
Elon re-entered the STATS poll at No. 25 following a 35-28 win over The Citadel last week. The Phoenix (1-1) start CAA play at Richmond on Saturday night.
Stony Brook (1-1) was among others receiving votes in both polls. The Seawolves are home against Wagner on Saturday.
CAA Football’s six ranked teams in the STATS poll was followed by the Big Sky (five teams) and the Missouri Valley and Southland with four. In the AFCA poll, the CAA and Big Sky were tied with five ranked teams, followed by the Missouri Valley and Southland with four.
