CAA Week 1 Social Media Roundup

Welcome to our newest weekly Colonial Athletic Association article, where we'll highlight each school's best plays, highlights, behind the scenes footage, and whatever other fire the schools from around the league drop.

Richmond

It's not everyday a defensive lineman gets the chance to score a touchdown. Especially from over 50 yards out. However, most defensive lineman aren't pre-season CAA defensive player of the year Maurice Jackson.

The Spiders got their 2019 season off to a fast start with a dominant win over Jacksonville.

Stony Brook

Fresh off two straight FCS playoff appearances, Stony Brook looks primed to make a run at another playoff bid. In his first start, Tyquell Fields showed he'll be a threat with his arm and legs this season putting up over 260 yards and two scores.

Delaware

We all knew Pat Kehoe could sling the ball, but did you know he could run?

The Blue Hens new offense under Jared Ambrose was on full display as well.

Albany

The Great Danes battled hard with Central Michigan and Eli Mencer scored one of the most impressive strip sack scoop and scores you will ever see.

Maine

It was a career night for Maine quarterback Chris Ferguson who threw for a career high 423 yards and three touchdowns. In fact, Ferguson passed his career best in the first half.

We even got an inside look at Coach Charlton's post game message to the team.

James Madison

The Dukes are no strangers to knocking off FBS programs and they almost added another victim Saturday afternoon at Mountaineer Field. James Madison lead West Virginia the entire first half and entered the fourth quarter tied with WVU before the Mountaineers eventually prevailed. There's no doubt Coach Cignetti has the Dukes primed for a championship run.

Towson

Playing a triple option team is never easy, but the Towson Tigers passed the test and the offense picked up where they left off last season. All-American Shane Simpson found the end zone three times.

Coby Tippett also snagged an interception that will be one of the best of the year.

Elon

The Phoenix opened the season on the road at NC A&T in the only game between ranked FCS teams. De'Sean McNair lead the way Elon with two scores on the ground.

It was a back and forth battle all night, but it was the Aggies who came out on top after this incredible walk off field goal.

Rhode Island

The Rams had the tough task of opening their season in Athens against pre-season MAC favorite Ohio. Star wide receiver Aaron Parker recorded his 10th career 100-yard receiving game finishing with 144 yards on nine catches, including a 34-yard touchdown.

William & Mary

The Mike London era got off to a great start Saturday night in Williamsburg.

Coach London also broke out an incredible dance with his team to celebrate the win.

Finally, this is one of the coolest and unique hype videos I've ever seen.
