Three CAA Football players have been selected to the Preseason Watch List for the inaugural FCS Punter of the Year award.
Chosen to the 28-player watch list were Delaware senior Nick Pritchard, James Madison junior Harry O’Kelly and New Hampshire senior Drew Sanborn.
Pritchard received first-team All-CAA honors in 2018 after averaging a league-best 42.0 yards per punt. He dropped 16 punts inside the 20-yard line and had 10 boots go more than 50 yards.
O’Kelly made the All-CAA second team a year ago after averaging 38.7 yards per punt. He placed 24 kicks inside the 20-yard line and had six punts over 50 yards.
Sanborn was honored on the All-CAA third team in 2018 after averaging 40.2 yards per punt. He had 27 punts downed inside the 20 and seven kicks of over 50 yards.
The Augusta Sports Council is sponsoring the award. The group also chooses the Ray Guy Award, which honors the top punter in FBS. The committee will announce 10 semifinalists at the end of November, and three finalists will be named in December by the voting body.
The winner of the 2019 FCS Punter of the Year Award will be unveiled in January.
