Let he who is without a messy Week 1 betting card throw the first stone.

Sure, we whiffed spectacularly on FAU, Troy and Penn State, but boy did we knock it out of the park with North Texas over SMU, amirite?

Anyway.

We understand you have trust issues. We understand we made some mistakes. But give us another chance. We'll make it up to you. Honest.

SOUTH CAROLINA (+10.5) over Georgia

Saturday | 2:30 PM CT | Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia, SC

Listen, Georgia’s got some dogs—pun absolutely intended—but, in the direction of South Carolina, this is a pretty disrespectful number.

The Gamecocks have given us no reason to believe they aren’t a challenger in the east this season, smoking a decent Coastal Carolina team in the opener—and doing so in an impressive manor that highlighted the nightmares that Jake Bentley-to-Deebo Samuel will likely give defensive coordinators all season.

Will Georgia win? Most likely, yes. But South Carolina does have a legitimate shot to win this thing outright, so getting 10.5 at Williams-Brice before a jam-packed crowd of emotionally charged fans?

We’ll take the points.

Rice @ Hawaii — Under 70

Saturday | 11 PM CT | Aloha Stadium, Honolulu, HI

Hawaii actually looks pretty good. Predictably, Rice looks really bad. Hawaii is a 17.5-point favorite, which implies that, to hit the number, Rice is going to need to contribute  Seventy points would imply that Rice is giving us, what, like four touchdowns?

If the Owls can manage that, more power to them. We’re Mike Bloomgren fans at FloFootball. But the trip to Hawaii is never an easy one and this Rice offense strikes fear into the hearts of no one—not even Prairie View A&M.

Arkansas State (+37) over ALABAMA

Saturday | 2:30 PM CT | Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa, AL

Former Oklahoma quarterback and four-star prospect—shoutout to the Edmond Santa Fe Wolves—Justice Hansen is a really, really nice player. Let’s start there.

The 2017 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 18 consecutive games after tossing six of them in the Red Wolves season-opening victory over Southeast Missouri State.

Safe to say, SEMO’s defense wasn’t Alabama’s defense, but the last 13 times ‘Bama has been a 28-point favorite against an FBS non-conference opponent, Nick Saban’s Tide is 1-10-2 against the number.

OHIO STATE (-35) over Rutgers

Saturday | 2:30 PM CT | Ohio Stadium, Columbus, OH

Since Rutgers entered the Big Ten, the last four meetings between the Buckeyes and Scarlet Knights have gone like this:

2017: 56-0

2016: 58-0

2015: 49-7

2014: 56-17

This Ohio State team was also a 40-point favorite against an Oregon State team that is essentially identical to Rutgers in terms of overall talent level last week, played relatively poorly on defense—giving up 31 to the Beavers—and still covered.
