7 Uncommitted Recruits To Watch At Battle On The Border

Just like last week at the Freedom Bowl, over 30 three-star and above prospects will be on display at the 2018 Battle on the Border.

While the majority of highly-rated prospects are committed, there remain a handful of elite recruits who are still in the process of deciding what college they will take their talents to.

WATCH BATTLE ON THE BORDER LIVE ALL WEEKEND

Dax Hill, Booker T. Washington (OK), Safety | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Alabama
  • Oklahoma
  • Michigan
  • Oklahoma State
  • Clemson
  • Ohio State

When Dax Hill takes the field Saturday morning he will be the first five-star prospect FloFootball has seen this year and he is well worth the subscription price.

The No. 12 overall recruit in the class of 2019 can literally play anywhere on the field and you will likely see him do just that this weekend. Safety, corner, middle linebacker, wide receiver—Hill can do it all and do it all well.

Watch some of Hill's best highlights from last season.

Nakobe Dean, Horn Lake (MS), Linebacker |⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Georgia
  • Florida State
  • Alabama
  • Ole Miss
  • Auburn
  • Mississippi State

Not only is Nakobe Dean the No. 1 player in the state of Mississippi but he’s the No. 1 linebacker in the country. As a junior, Dean had 147 tackles, 25 for a loss, and nine sacks. The 6-foot, 220-pound Dean wears No. 17 and you will have no trouble trying to find him on the field Saturday as he is always flying to the ball.

Watch Dean fly to the ball.

Brennon Scott, Bishop Dunne (TX), Linebacker | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Texas A&M
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • LSU
  • Nebraska
  • Baylor
  • Michigan State
  • Purdue

Despite only being a junior, at 6-2, 223 pounds, Brennon Scott already looks the part of a college linebacker.

Not only does Brennon’s size have college coaches attention, but his speed does, too. Scott can be either inside or outside linebacker thanks to the above mentioned speed. As a sophomore, Scott managed 33 tackles and two sacks in limited time.

Expect those numbers to skyrocket this season and for Scott to make a big impact Saturday night when Bishop Dunne takes on C.E. Byrd (LA).

Check out Scott in action at a Rivals camp back in April.

Javian Hester, Booker T. Washington (OK), Wide Receiver | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Oklahoma
  • Ohio State
  • Nebraska
  • Michigan
  • Arkansas

At 6-4, Javian Hester is a matchup nightmare for defensive coordinators. Hester has the speed to blow by corners, but he also go up and snatch balls away from defensive backs.

A year ago, Hester hauled in 38 passes for 705 yard and six touchdowns. While he’s being recruited as a wide receiver, Hester plays both ways for Booker T. Washington and is a playmaker on the defensive side of the ball, as well. To go along with his receiving stat line, Hester also recorded 23 tackles, 5 interceptions, and forced two fumbles on the defensive side of the ball.

Watch Hester show out on both sides of the ball.

Raydarious Jones, Horn Lake (MS), Athlete | ⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Alabama
  • Auburn
  • LSU
  • Mississippi State
  • Ole Miss

While Nakobe Dean is Horn Lake’s top ranked recruit, Raydarious Jones will likely be the name you hear the most when the Eagles take on Booker T. Washington on Saturday.

Jones doubles as a corner and the Eagles starting quarterback.

When under center Jones can beat you with his arm or his legs. Jones checks in at 6-2 right now, but if he continues to grow like he thinks he will, don’t be surprised if schools move him to the offensive side of the ball to play wide receiver.

Elijah Yelverton, Bishop Dunne (TX), Tight End | ⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Arizona State
  • Arkansas
  • Georgia
  • LSU
  • Michigan
  • Nebraska

While Elijah Yelverton will be a tight end at the next level, he has the speed and athleticism to split out and be an effective wide receiver—especially against smaller corners.

Expect Yelverton to be one of the top targets of his brother, Bishop Dunne quarterback Matthew Yelverton. There’s no doubt college coaches love Yelverton because of his blocking ability as well.

Jaden Hullaby, Bishop Dunne (TX), Athlete | ⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Florida
  • Arkansas
  • Iowa
  • Colorado
  • Michigan State
  • Purdue

While Hullaby is listed as an athlete, it’s clear that the schools heavily recruiting Hullaby believe he is a running back at the next level. At 6-2 and 190 pounds, Hullaby is the definition of a power back, but take it to the house anytime he touches it.
