Patrick Surtain Jr. and Tyson Campbell — arguably the nation’s top two secondary prospects — are parting ways as teammates at Plantation (FL) American Heritage High School, but they’ll likely see plenty more of each other over the course of the next few years.

Campbell, the FloFootball Petey Jones Award winner, did as we expected and inked with Georgia, becoming the latest mega-prospect to sign with Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs as part of what has become an unbelievable class.

Campbell is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound beast of a cornerback who may well have been the top-rated player at the position in another year — without the highest-rated cornerback prospect of all time playing across the field.

That guy, Surtain, shocked the college football world on Wednesday morning.

Surtain has long been considered an LSU lean, with Miami making a late push and appearing to emerge as LSU’s primary competition for one of the most sought-after players in the country. But, Saban and the Crimson Tide hit an early-morning home run, stealing the top remaining player on the board for their very own.

With that, Alabama jumped two positions, from No. 6 to No. 4 in 247Sports’ team rankings. But, after adding Campbell, Georgia now has a commanding lead on the top spot.
