7 Ways The College Football World Celebrated The Christmas Holiday

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” — Buddy the Elf

Auburn gets it. Duke gets it. But there are other ways to spread cheer. Here’s how the college football world celebrated the holiday season.

Texas A&M Running Back Kendall Bussey Made A Kid’s Year

I’m not going to spend a bunch of paragraphs trying to paraphrase the story of Kendall Bussey and a 9-year-old boy named Emery Faulkner. I couldn’t do it justice — and, frankly, you should just do yourself a favor and read the story as it was written by Thad Norvell over at TexasAgs.com

Suffice to say, Bussey came into contact with young Kendall by chance. He took a picture, signed a cap, and made the boy’s day. It could have — and, in most cases, would have ended there.

Santa Asked Derrius Guice To Sign A Ball, Guice Obliged & Delivered

Alexis Palermo, the self-described favorite 10-year-old of the Kris Kringle, wrote her dude Santa a letter asking for just one thing: a Derrius Guice autographed football.

Saint Nick called Guice, Guice signed the ball for Alexis — and then Guice went ahead and delivered the ball himself.

Duke Followed That With Some ‘Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town’

Not to be outdone, the Blue Devils went all in with another Christmas classic.

Foster Farms Bowl Teams Spend Christmas Day Serving Meals To Those In Need

Purdue is in San Francisco awaiting what will be the program’s first bowl appearance in five years in the Foster Farms Bowl in Santa Clara, CA, on Wednesday.

On Christmas Day, Purdue volunteered at the St. Anthony Dining Room in San Francisco, serving hot meals to the poor and hungry.

A few blocks away, Arizona did the same, volunteering its time at Glide Memorial Church and kitchen.
