Today I Learned: Wisconsin Has A Dual-Threat Tackle
The internet is an educational place.

Here's a collection of information we've gleaned from the World Wide Web this week.

Some of it's useful -- some of it, not so much.

Today I learned…

A Division III Team Lost 98-0 -- And Then Won 7 Straight Games

Eureka College (IL) beat College of St. Scholastica (MN) 40-34 on Saturday, snapping a seven-game win streak for the Saints.

St. Scholastica is now 7-2 overall and is tied with Eureka for first place in the UMAC despite losing its season opener 98-0 (!!!) to No. 6 St. John's (MN).

That's a hell of a bounce-back performance.

Anu Solomon Play(ed) For Baylor

Remember Anu Solomon? As in, Anu Solomon the former Arizona quarterback, once widely considered to be the next great dual-threat quarterback to sling it for Rich Rod?

Well, apparently, Anu Solomon started the first two games of the season for Baylor, but your boy completely missed that. Today I learned that Solomon went 24 of 55 for 399 yards, four touchdowns, and two picks for the winless Bears concurrent with also learning that he's left the program.

Solomon entered the concussion protocol after week two, and Baylor head coach Matt Rhule says that Solomon was struggling in class as a result of the head injury. To avoid failing his classes, Solomon was forced to withdraw from his graduate school -- and, thus, the football team.

Here's wishing Solomon a full recovery. Concussions suck.

Jim McElwain Still Owes Colorado State $1 Million

So, long story short, when Florida hired McElwain away from Colorado State in 2014, he and the school agreed to divvy up his $7 million buyout. McElwain's part was $2 million -- broken into six annual payments of $333,333 to be paid on June 30 of each year.

To date, the newly unemployed McElwain has made three payments to CSU, leaving his remaining balance at $1,000,001. That'll make you feel better about those student loans.

Wisconsin May Have The First Dual-Threat Left Tackle

OK, not really. But, if offensive lineman Michael Deiter had his way, he'd definitely see the ball more.

Head coach Paul Chryst seems less than enthusiastic about increasing Deiter's touches. Oh well. Shooters shoot.
