In dire need of a comeback, we're rocking with two teams with their backs against the wall -- one of whom is Rice.

Wait, Rice? Yes, Rice.

We're also deploying Khalil Tate, because of course we are. Here's that and more for your parlays, teasers, and round robins.

Florida State (-3) over BOSTON COLLEGE
Friday, Oct. 27 | 8 PM ET | Chestnut Hill, MA (Alumni Stadium)
The Seminoles have top five talent on a team whose season was completely derailed by Alabama in the first game of the season -- both with the loss, itself, and the loss of quarterback Deondre Francois.

That being said, Florida State (2-4) is playing with its back against the wall against a BC team that, while improved, is still well outclassed by the 'Noles -- and that's a recipe for a dominant effort… or a complete meltdown.

FSU needs to win four its last five -- with road games remaining at Clemson and Florida -- to go bowling. We'll give Boston College the points and take the playoff mentality.

TEXAS A&M (+1.5) over Mississippi State
Saturday, Oct. 28 | 6:15 PM CT | College Station, Texas (Kyle Field)
Mississippi State looked great in a lopsided homecoming win against Kentucky, but an underdog Texas A&M as a dog at Kyle Field against an equal-to or lesser-than opponent is too good to pass up.

The Aggies are tied with Clemson for the national lead in sacks. If the Bulldogs are going to win on the road, Nick Fitzgerald will need to be great on the move. He's capable, of course, but the skill and athleticism on the Texas A&M defense can be overwhelming.

ARIZONA (+3) over Washington State
Saturday | 6:30 PM MST | Tuscon, AZ (Arizona Stadium)
Two words: Khalil Tate.

Folks are still coming around to the idea that Arizona is something more than the very average team that began the season, but Tate makes them different.

The Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the past three weeks will have his way against a weak Wazzu defense.

RICE (+13.5) over Louisiana Tech
Saturday | 2:30 PM CT | Houston, Texas (Rice Stadium)
This pick is based almost entirely on a conversation I had Wednesday morning with Rice linebacker Emmanuel Ellerbee -- so take that for whatever it's worth.

Ellerbee told me that the the Owls are sick of losing, but not down, not divided -- and certainly not out. Is that what he was supposed to say? Sure. But I'm putting at least some stock into his sentiment and siding with the captain of a defense that I don't believe Tech will score against enough to win by two touchdowns.
