Charlotte's offensive challenges will be intensified at Western Kentucky on Saturday. During an interview with Charlotte radio station 730 AM The Game, head coach Brad Lambert officially ruled out running back Benny LeMay due to a concussion he suffered in the 49ers' loss to Marshall last week.
LeMay has been a rare bright spot for Charlotte (0-6, 0-2 C-USA), producing over 500 total yards through the team's first six games -- including 158-yard and 178-yard rushing efforts vs. North Carolina A&T and Florida International, respectively.
After starting just one game as a freshman, LeMay -- a former three-star prospect -- has been a bell cow for Charlotte when its offense is at its best this season. His two best performances came, not coincidentally, in the team's two near-wins.
Redshirt freshman Aaron McAlister and true freshman Kameron Duncan will carry the load. McAlister picked up 34 yards on seven carries after LeMay left last week's game.
