While You Were Tailgating: 5 Things You Have To See From The Weekend

5 things you need to see from the football weekend.

We had a top five upset before we even made it to Saturday, followed by emerging powers in the ACC and MEAC and a dancing defensive coordinator in Dallas.

Here's what you missed while you were manning the charcoal grill.

1. Wazzu Did What Wazzu Does

No judgment if you missed this one, as No. 16 Washington State and fifth-ranked Southern Cal kicked off at 9:30 PM (CT) on a Friday. Suffice to say, Wazzu may well be playoff bound after upsetting the visiting Trojans 30-27 in Pullman, WA, creating a scene that WSU head coach Mike Leach aptly characterized as, "like Woodstock, except everyone's got their clothes on."

This seems like a convenient time to point out the fact that someone saw this coming -- mostly because the Cougs still have conference games against Oregon, Colorado, Washington, and this may be my last chance.

2. GoFireMe

Things are not going well for two traditional powers. LSU lost to Troy 24-21 on homecoming (and the Trojans let 'em hear about it)…

Meanwhile, Tennessee got rocked 41-0 at home by Georgia. Both losses all but sealed the fate of UT head coach Butch Jones and LSU's Ed Orgeron. Much like the current situation at Arkansas, Orgeron's buyout ($12 million) is an impediment for those hoping for a change. But that didn't stop Tigers fan from starting a GoFundMe page to handle the expense.

Still a long way to go for Chad McGehee and Co., who've raised just $275 of the $12 million needed.

3. The Lamar Raynard Show

South Carolina State defensive back Jason Baxter intercepted NC A&T's Lamar Raynard on Saturday.

That's big news because Raynard now has a grand total of one interception to go along with 14 touchdowns and nearly 1,300 passing yards through the Aggies' first five games.

In spite of the Baxter pick, Raynard helped his team improve to 5-0 and take command of the MEAC with 298 yards and two scores in NC A&T's 21-7 win.

4. Clemson: Better Than Good

Life after Deshaun Watson was curious in the beginning.

"Clemson looks pretty good with Kelly Bryant," we said -- completely underselling just how good this Tigers team would be. As it turns out, Bryant is more than adequate and the Clemson defense is suffocating.

The Tigers have won in impressive fashion when they could have suffered a letdown (See: 34-7 win over Boston College), and they've won in impressive fashion when playing on the road, in hostile environments, and in primetime (See: Beating Louisville 47-21, Virginia Tech 31-17).

Alabama-Clemson III seems inevitable -- with only Oklahoma and potentially Georgia standing in the way.

5. Jerry's World of Dance

Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips threw a party at AT&T Stadium on Sunday after his defense -- which was torched in the first half -- solved the Cowboys' offensive puzzle in the second half en route to a 35-30 upset win over the defending NFC East champs.

To celebrate, Phillips did, um, this…
