St. Pius X Cancels Game Due To Harvey
St. Pius X cancels football game against Faith Lutheran due to Tropical Storm Harvey.
Due to the unprecedented rainfall produced by Tropical Storm Harvey in and around the city of Houston, St. Pius X High School has been forced to cancel classes and all weekend activities -- including its home football game against Las Vegas (NV) Faith Lutheran, scheduled for Friday night.
St. Pius X sports information director Thomas Nunciato confirmed the cancellation but also reported that all players, coaches, and staff members are safe.
Houston set a new daily rainfall record Sunday, with 16.07 inches reported at the city's international airport, according to the National Weather Service. More than two feet of rain (24.44 inches) fell over the weekend.
