We're close enough to smell the food from the tailgate. Football season officially begins in six days.

Of course, much like Christmas, spring break, and the last day of school, the days seem to also grow longer as kickoff creeps nearer. We can't do much about that, but we can ensure that the next few minutes are awesome, thanks to this Florida hype video.

Florida checked in at No. 16 in the first Amway Coaches Poll -- a few weeks before arguably its best player, wide receiver Antonio Callaway, headlined a list of six indefinitely suspended players.

The Gators are loaded with talent, but an overwhelming portion of that talent is unproven. That leaves Jim McElwain's bunch with a sky-high ceiling but also a deep basement if things begin to unravel. Florida's three-man quarterback battle added another level of intrigue with the arrival of Notre Dame transfer Malik Zaire, who's shown flashes of his elite potential throughout his college career. If he can beat redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks and junior Luke Del Rio for the starting job, Zaire will be asked to sustain that type of production for a full season in the Southeastern Conference. Running back Jordan Scarlett is fresh off of an 889-yard season and will be the feature back for the Gators in 2016.

Florida loses eight starters from Randy Shannon's defense. Yet, given the immense talent and pedigree of the players stepping into expanded roles, much is expected from the unit once again this season. The most experienced position is linebacker, where three sophomores are back in the fold following significant roles as freshmen.

The SEC is the SEC -- but the Eastern Division is still relatively wide open. The expectation in Gainesville remains a trip to Atlanta to compete for a conference championship.
