Mills, who led the Yellow Jackets in rushing in 2016, was expected to be the focal point of the offense this season. Georgia Tech's run-heavy offense is suddenly light on depth in the backfield with the dismissal of Mills coupled with Marcus Marshall's off-season transfer to James Madison.
Mills and Marshall combined for 1,395 yards and 16 touchdowns last season.
