Oregon State Hype Video Captures Program's Belief In Andersen
Oregon State Hype Video Captures Program's Belief In Andersen
Oregon State football hype video and season preview.
We're getting closer. Football season officially begins in eight days.
Of course, much like Christmas, spring break, and the last day of school, the days seem to also grow longer as kickoff creeps nearer. We can't do much about that, but we can ensure that the next few minutes are awesome, thanks to this Oregon State hype video.
When Gary Andersen left Wisconsin -- after 19 wins in two seasons -- he presumably did so with a full understanding of the size and scope of the rebuilding project awaiting him in Corvallis, OR. The Beavers went 2-10 and winless in the Pac-12 in Andersen's first year on the job before showing incremental improvement in 2016, finishing 4-8 after back-to-back conference victories to close out the season -- and 6-18 has been enough to infuse the fans and administration with optimism.
The Beavers are eyeing a bowl game in Andersen's third year, despite total uncertainty at quarterback and a shortage of playmakers on the outside. Running back Ryan Nall is back for his senior after totaling 951 yards in 2016, and his position is one of strength for Oregon State, as Oregon transfer Thomas Tyner and TCU graduate transfer Trevorris Johnson also figure to be in the mix.
The secondary provides the teeth for a defense that ranked in the top 50 nationally in pass defense in 2016. The defensive line returns nearly every contributor from a season ago and adds highly touted JUCO transfer Craig Evans. Andersen and the Beavers are still on the uphill climb of the program's rebuilding effort, but continued progress is a reasonable expectation.
