Georgia Hype Video Is The Perfect 'Welcome Back'
Georgia Hype Video Is The Perfect 'Welcome Back'
We've almost made it, friends. Football season officially begins in 11 days. While we can't make the next two weeks go by any faster, we can ensure that the next few minutes are awesome, thanks to this Georgia hype video.
We're getting closer. Football season officially begins in 11 days.
Of course, much like Christmas, spring break, and the last day of school, the days seem to also grow longer as kickoff creeps nearer. We can't do much about that, but we can ensure that the next few minutes are awesome, thanks to this Georgia hype video.
There's a lot to be excited about in Athens, GA, where the Bulldogs will feature the type of defense you'd expect from head coach Kirby Smart.
The unit loses only nickelback Maurice Smith from a group that ranked 16th nationally in 2016. It's a veteran defense that's deep at seemingly every position -- particularly in the front seven. Included in that bunch are a pair of senior defensive ends, Lorenzo Carter and Davin Bellamy, who could have been playing on Sundays this fall.
The Bulldogs weren't very good on offense in 2016 (87th nationally), and that team isn't even intact, as Georgia must replace three offensive linemen and wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie. Still, with both Nick Chubb and Sony Michel back at running back and a potential superstar in Jacob Eason at quarterback, incremental improvement seems like a decent bet, if only by default.
Georgia opens the season at No. 15 in the Amway Coaches Poll, but this defense, coupled with Eason's ceiling, offers virtually unlimited upside.
Stay tuned to FloFootball all season long. The action gets started with a high school doubleheader on August 26 as No. 12 Plantation (FL) American Heritage travels to Virginia Beach (VA) Bishop Sullivan and Scottsdale (AZ) Saguaro hits the road to face Henderson (NV) Liberty.
