Griff Whalen Signed By The Baltimore Ravens

The Spring League success stories are already rolling in following this past weekend's Showcase in Napa, CA. Wide receiver Griff Whalen is signing with the Baltimore Ravens after working out with the team and passing a physical on Friday, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Whalen, a five-year NFL veteran who has played for the Indianapolis Colts and San Deigo Chargers, looked good all week in practice at The Spring League and was highly productive during the Showcase game, hauling in four receptions on five targets for a game-high 73 total yards.

His biggest play of the game came on a 55-yard throw from Garrett Anderson. By reviewing the game film, it's easy to pick up on Whalen's strong route running. Even though he was only targeted five times, he was often open on the passing plays.

Players at The Spring League Showcase all spoke about the importance of a developmental football league to give them more opportunities to be noticed by NFL teams.
