A pair of the nation's top signal-callers changed course this week.

The nation's top dual-threat quarterback and Rivals' No. 8 overall recruit Justin Fields has decommitted from Penn State. Likewise, Long Beach, California, gunslinger Matt Corral has reversed course from his commitment to USC.

Fields, a Kennesaw, Georgia, native took to Twitter to make his announcement.

Fields has recently taken visits to Georgia, Auburn, and Florida State and most recently a trip to Florida. It has also been rumored that Fields visited USC a few weeks ago.

During his junior campaign, Fields threw for over 2,700 yards and 23 touchdowns while adding another 1,100 yards and 15 scores on the ground.

Fields is now the second five-star recruit to decommit from Penn State after defensive lineman Micah Parsons pulled his commitment from the Nittany Lions in April.

In Corral's recruitment, Southeastern Conference powers Alabama, Florida, and Georgia have now emerged as the top candidates to snag the 6-foot-2 Long Beach Poly quarterback, with Nebraska trying to get its foot in the door as well.

During his junior season, Corral threw for just over 3,000 yards with 22 touchdowns, and even though he is listed as a pro-style quarterback, Corral ran for 300 yards with seven scores.
