We've got 5 weeks left of the 2026 football season. One of these days, I will get 100% accuracy.
Week 7 introduced a lot of new names into the FloCollege rankings. We see Baldwin Wallace Football at 15, Lake Forest Football at 22, USMMA at 23, and Wartburg at 25. Let's see how some of these teams shape up in Week 8.
I am confident in this week's prediction, however spicy they are.

#23 USMMA Defeats Springfield for the First Time in 7 Years
Welcome to the FloCollege rankings WestConn! Time to show us what you got.
Springfield has gone undefeated in the NEWMAC since 2021. USMMA has consistently trailed Springfield and hasn't beaten the pride since 2018. Their history runs deep: 23 meetings with Springfield, with 18 wins.
However, this year might prove to be different.
USMMA leads over Springfield in many categories, and their individual player stack up greatly against the Pride.
USMMA leads in scoring, rushing, passing, and 1st, 3rd, & 4th down conversions. Running back Bubba Mustain leads all of the NEWMAC with 107.5 rushing yards per game as well as scoring the most touchdowns with 14 to the next closest's 5. On defense, Jonathan Wheeler leads with 6 tackles for loss, alongside Zatyk Holub, who joins Wheeler at the top of the NEWMAC for sacks.
Springfield has consistently beaten USMMA, but the tide is turning, and who knows tides better than the Marines.
- Prediction: USMMA beats Springfield.
Lycoming Stays On Top of Landmark Against WestConn
Lycoming currently sits at the top of the Landmark conference with a perfect 3-0 record. After a rough start to the season, they are on a three-game win streak, earning their wins against Landmark Catholic, Wilkes, and Juniata.
WestConn lost to Catholic in Week 7 by a single point. They lost the game after missing the extra point on their last touchdown of the game.
Lycoming won the last matchup against WestConn, 42-24.
- Prediction: Lycoming defeats WestConn.
Montclair State Upsets #24 Salisbury
Salisbury holds on to the FloCollege rankings, sitting in the 24th spot. However, I am predicting that they get bumped after a loss to Montclair State.
This might be the hottest take of the week because Salisbury did shut out Vermont State University Castleton while Montclair lost to Christopher Newport. However, this Jersey girl will ride for Jersey schools.
Before you call bias on me, let's look at the facts. I will be making it fair by looking at Salisbury's loss against Rowan and Montclair's loss against CNU, to see how they stack up under pressure.
Salisbury's quarterback SyRus McGowan threw for 146 yards while leading the team with 92 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Salisbury seems to be a team of 1.
Montclair's quarterback, Luke Henrich, completed 16 passes for 195 yards, including 1 touchdown. However, he did throw three interceptions, which was the result of their loss. Their offense was led by Bernie Tinord with 105 rushing yards and a touchdown. This sounds more like a team.
- Prediction: Montclair kicks Salisbury out of the rankings.
Chapman Continues Win Streak Against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
Chapman is on fire after a loss in Week 1. They have won their last 5 games and will continue the streak against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS).
CMS has won their last four games, but when it comes to head-to-head games, Chapman will come out victorious.
Chapman demolishes CMS when it comes to rushing yards, 172.3 yards per game to CMS's 93. Fischer-Huss has earned 5 touchdowns over 74.3 rushing yards per game.
Robert Litscher leads CMS as their quarterback and has out-thrown Chapman's Eli Brandt with a 64.7% completion rate.
Both teams appear to have strong defenses, allowing opponents to score only an average of 17 points per game.
They are the only undefeated teams left in the SCIAC, and this game will prove important to decide the conference winner.
- Prediction: Chapman takes down Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Hampden-Sydney Takes Down Washington & Lee
One thing to say about Hampden-Sydney is: holy offense. They have won the last 5 games, but over their whole season, they have put up an average of almost 38 points per game. They are ranked 36th in DIII for scoring offense.
Washington & Lee has been a bit all over the place. After a huge upset against previously ranked Randolph-Macon, they took a loss to Bridgewater in Week 7. They lost by 1 point, 21-22.
The history between these two teams runs deep, with over 81 games. The Generals hold 41 of those wins, but Hampden-Sydney will tie up the series with this year's win.
- Prediction: Hampden-Sydney ties up the series with a win over Washington & Lee.
