The Small School Saturday crew will be on site in Allendale, Mich., at the 24th annual Anchor-Bone Classic, Division 2's best rivalry, to preview the game, chat with former Grand Valley State DB Ian Kennelly, and talk all things D2, D3, and NAIA football. The game, featuring No. 1 Ferris State and No. 13 Grand Valley State, kicks off at 3 p.m. EST.

If I could watch the Anchor-Bone Classic five times this weekend, I would. However, that is impossible until Sunday, when the rivalry matchup between No. 1 Ferris State and No. 13 Grand Valley State is uploaded to FloCollege.com and the FloCollegeFootball YouTube Channel.
So, here’s what else I’m watching this week on FloCollege.
No. 10 Davenport vs Roosevelt
Shockingly, this is the only other D2 game on my slate this weekend, but it’s a must-watch, in my opinion.
No. 10 Davenport is perfect thus far in 2026, winning six games straight with no losses. This is a wildly different record than they had at this time in 2025, as they were 2-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Roosevelt is a wildly different team too, capitalizing on the transfer portal to transform their team from 2-8 in 2025 to 5-1 this season.
This is a GLIAC matchup to watch, and even if you don’t care about the final score, you’ll have fun watching NCAA D2 leading rusher Cephus Harris (RB, Davenport) on the field.

Baldwin Wallace vs Marietta
Ah yes, here come the D3 games I plan on tuning in to.
To be honest, I don’t expect this game to be a thriller. I do, however, expect Baldwin Wallace to perform... and stay perfect.
Undefeated and unranked Baldwin Wallace visits 3-2 overall and 2-2 conference opponent Marietta on Homecoming. In the 2025 matchup, the Yellow Jackets blanked the Pioneers 38-0. I’m confident that Marietta will score at least once, though; don’t worry.

Pomona-Pitzer vs California Lutheran
Two teams tied for third in the SCIAC: California Lutheran and Pomona-Pitzer. Two teams playing in Week 7: California Lutheran and Pomona-Pitzer. Sure, SCIAC Football, let’s do this.
California Lutheran’s Joe Farley leads the SCIAC in passing, throwing 79-for-129 for 1210 yards and 14 touchdowns this season and averaging 242 yards per game. Farley will have to prepare to throw against Pomona-Pitzer’s Alden Kling, who ranks second in tackles for loss (6.5-28).
Pomona-Pitzer faces Cal Lutheran on Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. PT.
Linfield vs Whitworth
These two teams are tied for second in the Northwest Conference with matching 3-1 overall and 2-0 records. One team will pull ahead following the West Coast face-off this weekend, but who?
Well, that’s what I’m wondering, too. And it is exactly why I am tuning into this D3 matchup. Whitworth picked up a road win in 2025, beating the Wildcats 30-20.
Linfield leads the NWC defensively, ranking just ahead of third-ranked Whitworth. They’re going to need to apply this defensive pressure when Whitworth’s Kurt Solano, the NWC’s leading rusher, takes the field.
Whitworth hosts Linfield on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. PT.
