It’s early in the 2026 college football season, but we’re seeing a different Campbell football team this year.
If the Camels are going to be a legitimate threat in the tough Coastal Athletic Association this season, their fourth campaign in the conference, it has to begin this week on the road against Hampton, as the slate only gets tougher from here.

Campbell is 3-1 overall this season and 1-0 in the CAA, while the struggling Pirates are 1-3, with three consecutive losses, and 0-1 in conference play.
This will be the fifth meeting in history between Campbell and Hampton.
Their first clash came in 2019, and the Camels lead the series 3-1, which includes victories in 2019, 2023 and 2025. The Hampton win in 2021 later was vacated due to NCAA violations.
This will be the third straight time they’re playing in Hampton, Virginia, but they’ll meet at a nearby high school venue – Darling Stadium – while renovations wrap up on campus at Armstrong Stadium.

He steps into the pocket and hits sophomore receiver Chinua Ezeigbo for a 34-yard score.
The play is reviewed and holds up. Robison adds the extra point.

Taylor starts the second quarter with a rough attempt for a loss of 5 yards.
Sophomore running back Gracen Goldsmith gets the ball on second and goal and scampers in for a 7-yard touchdown run.
Starling adds the extra point.

Senior quarterback Tre'Von Taylor completes a 21-yard pass to tight end Dedrick Borden to get Hampton to the 1-yard line as time is about to expire.
The quarter ends there, and the Pirates will start the second quarter with a first-and-goal opportunity.

The Hampton defense comes up with a huge play to end a Campbell scoring threat.
Fifth-year defensive back Cam Sturdifen recovers a JJ Cowan fumble inside the Hampton 20 and returns it all the way to the Campbell 20 for one last scoring opportunity before the quarter ends.

Senior quarterback Kamden Sixkiller gives the Camels the lead with a 28-yard touchdown pass to junior tight end Connor Adair.
It's the ninth passing touchdown of the year for the Campbell gunslinger.

Gullette attempts to make up for his earlier fumble.
He receives the kick at the 13-yard line and returns it to inside the Hampton 30.
Unfortunately, the Camels can't capitalize on the opportunity and must attempt a field goal.
The attempt from junior kicker Kaleb Robison is blocked by senior defensive lineman Chris Jackson.
The Pirates get the ball back on their own 20-yard line.
