Here are five upsets and predictions in division 3 football that fans could see in Week 3.

UW-La Crosse Football (D3) Will Upset Wayne State (D2)
UW-La Crosse was ranked in the top 25 poll to start the season. While they have had a losing record thus far in the season, they are due for a win. In Week 1, they took a loss to No. 10 St. John's and a loss to No. 14 Hardin-Simmons in Week 2. But even in their loss, they put up a fight against their opponents.
Their offenses were still able to put up 21 points in the first and 20 points in the latter, proving strong contenders for the D2 opponent.
UW-La Crosse's Kyle Haas is ranked ninth in DIII in passing yards with 608 yards over two games.
Wayne State also has a losing streak, showing difficulty in both offense and defense. They were shutout of both of their games, losing by a minimum of 49 points.
If it is time for UW-Lacrosse to find a win in their schedule, and Wayne State is on the trajectory to help them out.
No. 7 Susquehanna Rises In Rankings After Beating No. 17 Johns Hopkins
Johns Hopkins started Week 1 in the No. 4 spot. Then, they took a loss to Randolph-Macon. While it was a close game, only losing 21-28, it could be a testament to more of what is to come.
On the other hand, Susquehanna is currently on a winning streak of 2-0. Both the offense and defense have been on point, after only letting in 31 points while earning 64 points.
Tommy Wright has been at the forefront of the Susquehanna offense, with 513 passing yards. This puts him 22nd in DIII. Brayden Nolan leads the defense, earning 2.50 tackles-for-loss per game which is tied for tenth in division 3 football.
No. 18 Wartburg Defeats No. 3 UW-River Falls
Wartburg has already fallen to No. 1 North Central, but it was closer than one may think. Wartburg stole the first touchdown of the game and held it's own until the second half. The defense dropped, and the offense only secured a single touchdown. In the end, they only lost to the top ranked team in division 3 football by 6 points.
Knights running back Dawson Rud sits #32 in rushing yards with 212 thus far in the season.
However, their defense will need to be on their best behavior going against UW-River Falls. Over their first two games, they scored 111 points and only allowed 13 points for their opponents to find the end zone.
No. 21 Springfield Will Take Down No. 5 UW-Platteville
Two games, minimum scores of 42, and one shutout. The Springfield Pride opened their season against Western New England, where the Pride earned 42 points to their 28. Their offense is led by Stanford Davis, who sits seventh in DIII in rushing yards with 306.
After fixing their defense, they went on to shut out Husson in Week 2 with 48 points.
UW-Platteville also earned a shutout in the second week, with 59 points against Dubuque. They also earned 44 points in their first week. Both offenses and defenses were practically perfect. This game will be one to watch.
No. 16 Mount Union Will Redeem Itself With a Blowout over Heidelberg
After a loss in week 1 against No. 3 Wheaton, Mount Union is looking to move up the rankings. This week, an easier target.
Heidelberg currently has a 2-0 record, with major wins over Maryville and Otterbein, the team that pulled up the rear of the conference in 2025.
If Mount Union is looking to move up in the rankings, the time is now.
