The Lone Star Conference is back for another exciting season in 2026, and there's some storylines that stand out before football is underway.

Central Washington Football enters the season as the conference favorite, finishing the 2025 season atop the standings and receiving the most votes in the preseason poll. Western Oregon Football isn't far behind, receiving nine first-place votes behind quarterback Jordan McCarty.

UT Permian Basin Football is the big question mark in 2026. Coming off of a Division 2 Playoffs quarterfinal appearance in 2025, the roster has almost entirely reset. Can the Falcons reload after a successful year?

Here's five things for LSC fans to keep in mind as the 2026 college football season approaches.
